Warhorse Studios has announced that it is working on an open-world RPG set in JRR Tolkien's Middle-earth...there have been whispers of a Warhorse-developed LotR game for a while now...with Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its excellent 2025 sequel, the studio proved that it knows how to make story-driven open-world RPGs, and Middle-earth presumably isn't too large of a leap from the medieval Bohemia setting of those games...

Hope I don't need to wait 5 years wonder if it's 1st person or 3rd. They needed an established IP.
 
hopefully the combat is not complete trash in this one. and additionally you don't need to go immediately upon a new game to an archery competition for 4 hours to raise your skills so you can do SOMETHING.
 
They also revealed they're working on another Kingdom Come sequel.
