“The company is also highlighting its OLED capabilities in the emerging field of physical AI, such as robots. LG Display's P-OLED solution for humanoid robots is making its public debut, featuring high-performance Tandem OLED technology designed to withstand the rigors of automotive environments.

P-OLED offers high design flexibility, making it suitable for various robot form factors, while also meeting the demanding requirements of humanoids, including being able to operate in diverse environments and temperature conditions. LG Display sees automotive Tandem OLED technology as the most suitable solution in this field because it can deliver durability, high brightness, and long life. Building on its expertise in automotive displays, the company plans to expand its presence in the physical AI sector.

LG Display is also showcasing its industry-leading OLED innovations across multiple segments. Its OLED TV panel featuring the company's proprietary Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 technology maximizes light efficiency through an advanced pixel structure and enhanced algorithms. This enables peak brightness of 4,500 nits along with ultra-low reflectance of 0.3%, the lowest among existing displays.

In the gaming segment, LG Display is exhibiting a 27-inch OLED panel with a 720 Hz refresh rate—recognized as Display of the Year by SID—as well as the world's first 39-inch 5K2K ultra-high-resolution curved OLED panel.

It is also demonstrating a 27-inch OLED panel that achieves 5K resolution at 220 PPI, featuring a newly designed RGB stripe structure that enhances the aperture ratio. This improves color clarity and precision while minimizing distortion such as color bleeding and fringing.

For IT devices, the company is introducing a 16-inch Tandem OLED optimized for AI laptops. Compared to conventional OLEDs, it is thinner and lighter while improving power efficiency, extending battery usage by up to 2.3 hours, and significantly enhancing portability.

In addition, LG Display is presenting a concept car with automotive display solutions tailored for Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs), including a 57-inch P2P panel spanning from driver to passenger seat and a 32-inch Slidable OLED that retracts into the ceiling and is deployed when needed.

"Our unrivaled R&D capabilities have led the world in first-of-their-kind and best-in-class OLED innovations," said Choi Young-seok, Chief Technology Officer at LG Display. "We will continue to put customers first and firmly establish our leadership as a technology-driven company that steers the future of displays."“

If my LG appliances are any indication then these displays will be partially deceased within 3 years of purchase.
Nope. Their TVs been solid. I had my C8 for 6 years with over 3k in hours and no issues. It now lives with my mom after I upgraded to a 77" Samsung OLED.

The 65 in now in my bedroom as it was replaced with a 77 around COVID. They all still work other then the 55 I gave my brother as it fell off a table

LG should be blanket banned from selling anything outside of Korea, their products are landfill and deliberately so. I have three separate clients that put enormous amounts of money into "high-end" LG appliances. When I say high-end, I mean they spent Miele type money on this stuff, and they got LG's standard disposable junk for the same amount of money actual Miele appliances with ten year warranties would have cost.

The decent quality of their older panels is the only reason that LG's entire c-suite shouldn't just be tied to cinder blocks and lobbed into the sea. I've been hearing disheartening things about their TVs from the last three years, but it will take a while longer for us to know if they've let that quality slip into the abyss like everything else they make. I've got a 10+ year old LG TV in my shop that just keeps trucking, and looks pretty good, AND has no smart anything.

Their appliances are certainly junk, but I've had my C8 for 8 years now and it still works perfectly.
Run far away from their washer/dryers.
My parents had Helsinki Syndrome for LG appliances until I steered them away. They went Samsung after the last time the appliances died, and they're even worse. I bought them a washer and dryer myself for Christmas one year to stop the cycle of buying Korean. They've been happy ever since, and went American when their refrigerator died thankfully.

My LG 55eg9100 is on at least 14 hours every day since purchase, 11 years and going. No issues.

I bought my parents a washer dryer combo 20 years ago from Best Buy. Still going strong. Our current washer/dryer combo is GE. Repair guy agrees that their current appliances are garbage.

LG G6 arguably the top of the line TV in quality. Would be a shame if reliability is not the same. My parents just bought one of the smaller ones.

If this means their previous OLED generation are gonna go on sale, I'll happily buy the older product at a discounted price.

I just watched a few reviews of the G5 vs G6. The G5 was a huge leap in brightness improvement (25-30%+) over it's predecessor. The G6 is a 10% bump, but the picture quality gives and takes.
Look for combo deals on slickdeals.net. The LG partner store had some great ones right before Black Friday. Best bundle included a 40%+ discount, ~$1000 soundbar, bluetooth speaker, mount and installation. I wouldn't hestitate to buy the G5. I don't think the C6 is the old G5, but it's worth investigating, too - that's their mid-tier model.
