Similar thing happened way back in the day when Intel was sure it could stretch out the Pentium 4 and push Rambus RDIMM on people. It was the opening in the market that AMD had been looking for.
At least they are smart enough not to mess with the hourly workers. I know when salary people aren’t there on the weekends, the fabs run fine. But if the hourly people didn’t show up for two days…..

Just an FYI, the Intel Arc GPU’s do work in Plex. I have an Asrock A380. Shows up as Quicksync. I got it for a good price as an open box at Microcenter.
I use iTunes server and AppleTV to consume our media in the house. Handbrake and Subler are about all I need for making video files for iTunes. I have iTunes running on Windows which has an Intel A380. Not using AV1 since Apple doesn't support it...
I have one of the Samsung T3 or whatever they are called. Extremely satisfied. Easily sustains 300MB/s on regular USB3, haven’t tried it on Type-C yet.
