Insane GPU prices in 2022 WTF?

To counter the counter… I’d rather spend $500 on 3 total GPUs every 2-3 years over a 7 year or so span and always have recent technology and features. So could do $1500 over 5-6 years on 3 cards. Lots of ways to go about it. Could even do $700ea on cards every 3-5 years which is what I’m looking at.

    Ddr4 vs ddr5

It’s all about what you want to spend. Personally since 13th gen is showing some good scaling on DDR5 6400+ already so if building from scratch it makes sense to get a nice d5 board. Unless you have some good DDR4 in hand and want to reuse it I see little reason to buy DDR4 new for a current gen...

    Intel i7-13700k vs AMD Ryzen 7900x ?

It seems that things like quick sync and some programs that are more Intel friendly could make a 13th gen build a no brainer. Classic case of use case here. What programs and workloads are you going to run and which tool is best for the job. What’s amazing right now for us consumers is that...

Who else is waiting on Zen 4 x3D before upgrading?

It seems like this is definitely a thing. Threads all over have people saying that they will delay purchase until the x3D chips are announced at least with an availability date or are actually available. Realistically if you have a decent set up now no reason to be in a hurry. DDR5 and AM5...

Who else is waiting on Zen 4 x3D before upgrading?

Any B650 board that has the connectivity you like should be fine in that case honestly.

Who else is waiting on Zen 4 x3D before upgrading?

Newegg has more B650 boards from 149-220 than a few weeks ago. Not sure if any are that great. The Gigabyte Aorus Elite mATX and ATX boards look decent enough though and are 199 and 219. From there it seems mediocre at best until the 279-499 range. I’d get a B650e or x670/e for long term...

Who else is waiting on Zen 4 x3D before upgrading?

I built a 7600x machine for a buddy last week and he moved from a 6700k build. It’s of course a massive upgrade even carrying his Strix 1080 over for now. He plays a lot if 4x games like Stellaris and not surprisingly the cpu bump is noticeable. His plan is to run this for a couple of years and...

[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears for Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX

Hmmm.. Well the seller is in the States and some are showing sold. It’s almost worth a 7600x for 200 to find out. Edit: When Der8aur gets his AM5 delid kit out one of these may be worth cracking open for some direct die cooling shenanigans. Tray CPUs probably have no warranty I’m guessing?

    Annoying AF crash error...plz halp

Almost 100% of my Ryzen system crashes during some games have come down to ram settings. Not kidding- especially with first gen Ryzen. Is your ram 4x8 or 2x16 ? Are you setting the docp / xmp setting to enabled? What worked for me was setting the xmp/ docp (Asus boards ) and backing it down...

Microcenter - Free 32GB DDR5 kit with purchase of a Ryzen 4 CPU.

Interesting. I picked up that GSkill 6000 kit with a 7700x recently. I’ll have to see if they are Hynix A Die. But yeah they probably won’t clock too high on these early AM5 chips though. I’m likely just going to stick to the expo profile and call it a day for now.

Are you camping out / lining up for an RTX 4080?

I went to Microcenter yesterday on lunch at 1PM for some TIM and they still had stock on 8 different 4080 skus. Just now this AM - 7:29 EST - they have 4 skus still in stock.

Microcenter - Free 32GB DDR5 kit with purchase of a Ryzen 4 CPU.

It could be some exclusive deal where AMD or GSkill is offering a rebate for Microcenter to help on cost. Or they are just throwing out a killer incentive to get traffic.

    SOLD | 12700k | z690 Tuf D4 | 2x16 Crucial Ballistics 3600 🐏

Greetings all. ‘Tis the season and I’ve got the tinkering bug. Selling this as a combo but will part out the mobi and CPU if people are interested. Mobo has the latest bios running for 13th gen support. I purchased these items new at Microcenter this time last year. I ran windows 10 and now 11...

Anybody plan on grabbing one of the new RX7xxx Navi cards on launch?

This is exactly why I picked up a 6800xt for $350 less than the 6900xt. Looks the 7900xtx is the only one to get because what’s a $100 bucks once you get up near a grand.. I’m interested in actual reviews to see the performance spread between the xtx and xt. With all that being said I’m...

    HURRY - Micro Center - 12700K + ASUS TUF Z690 Combo - $350

AND they hold your reservation for a couple of days too. Pretty convenient. Also I’m usually wandering around the store at least to window shop before going to the pickup counter. More than once that has lead to some bonus shopping..
