    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Flicker during loading screens on most displays with VRR is unavoidable. Lots of big frametime spikes and heavy IO causing wide refresh rate swings that the monitor can't handle so it flickers. If its not happening in game I really don't care TBH.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Yeah mine got delayed to late July so I cancelled. Samsungs monitors always have sales so not really conerned about losing the discounted price. EDIT: They told me its backordered this past Monday yet you could still place orders. Just now its completely OOS.

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Yeah I dunno about that. PG27UQ was firmware updatable. There is probably some engineering time required to get the job done that Dell doesn't want to invest and would rather eat shipping costs for the few (in the grand scheme of things) monitors people have issues with due to firmware.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

It's the scaler or display driver IC that's likely at fault. G7, G9, Neo G9, G8 all use different panel models #'s so the likelyhood of all the panels being the culprit is low. It's bad but on the other hand it's also uncharted territory with Samsung really the only one pioneering. We have...

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Sony also just released an update that enables FALD with VRR this week. Only the X900H with the ghetto chipset that halves vertical resolution @ 4K/120hz is excluded. All of those Sony TV's are just typical smeary VA's though and not really suitable for high refresh rate.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

To be fair that picture is obscenely overexposed to the point where whats visible on the G8 is undecipherable without the C2 showing a identical image. In real life it will look nothing like that at all and I know because he's got his C2 looking like its a FALD display.

    Sony Inzone Gaming Monitors

Its a Asus PG32UQXE by Coolermaster. There will be quite a few variants from other manufacturers like Acer, etc.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Yeah that looks pretty terrible but its expected when comparing OLED vs FALD. Just wish they went accurate at the expense of bloom like the PG32 instead of doing all this wonky crap with FALD based on APL.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

I don't even know what to make of this photo. You sure HDR is "working" correctly because it really has issues when cloned across displays especially on the non primary.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Bestbuy started shipping G8's last week with plenty receiving theirs. They are constrained to maintaining the listing based on Samsungs July 8th release date.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Yeah their order processing makes no sense. Friend lives in Texas. Amazon and Bestbuy are basically shipping on demand right now while Samsung is backed up because of their recent quarterly sales event and I think way more purchased these monitors directly from them for all the discounts. Whats...

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Even with its limited brightness the Neo G7 should destroy the FV43U in HDR. That things an 8 zone edge lit monitor that isn't even capable of "highlights" since it just behaves like a globally lit monitor and blasts the entire panel which can be mistaken for looking brighter but in reality its...

    LG UltraGear 48GQ900 48" 138Hz OLED

The 42" C2 outputs at 137/138hz and no higher when I make a custom res but frame skips. Really wish someone who knows timings could mess with it and see if its really possible.
