    27" 240hz OLED Monitor!!! (but there's a catch...)

Why is a monitor in 2022 being compared to a CRT? A lot has happened between then.

    27" 240hz OLED Monitor!!! (but there's a catch...)

All of LG's displays have had 1 year warranties in North America. I don't see how this will be any different.

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Bro you need help. You have flip flopped like 8x between the same displays over and over. Best thing you can do is just get off this section of the forum.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

PG42UQ firmware update that was promised mid November is now available. It only took them 3 months to fix the power LED.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

That's one of the bugs with HDMI. Seems Gsync works for some and not for others at 240hz/12bit.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Auto HDR is better with W11 but it won't matter for this monitor currently because HDR on the desktop is busted and translates to Auto HDR games being busted too. They are all blown out and washed out where as native HDR games look okay.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

The main advantage is that you can do 240hz/12bit over HDMI vs DP being limited to 10bit due to the lower bandwidth.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Some people are stuck at 120hz while others have 240hz working. Its a 40Gbps HDMI 2.1 port so its capable but probably just another firmware mishap.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Linus already has image retention on his PG42UQ that the automatic pixel refresh won't get rid of. I dunno why that guy keeps using OLEDs with his extreme use case and refuses to set a black screen saver.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

HDMI 2.1 is funky on these still with a lot of people having issues getting higher than 120hz. Just use DP.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

At 165hz and below they are basically imperceptible.

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

Yeah I know its really preference given $184 separate the two but for anyone else on the fence the Neo G7 is kind of smeary in comparison even at like for like refresh rate vs the G8. This is really important for me because VRR carries my experience and the G8 performs consistently across the...

    27" 240hz OLED Monitor!!! (but there's a catch...)

Motion clarity is just as important as HDR/contrast performance to me except the perceived gap between a CRT vs a 240hz OLED in motion clarity is tiny relative to the massive gulf in general picture quality so it's an acceptable trade off for my use case. It's great to have clear motion but...

    Odyssey Neo G8 - 4K 240 Hz 32" Quantum Mini LED

I would pay the difference for the G8 just for the variable overdrive and way better overdrive tuning in general. Custom res it to 165hz or whatever to avoid scanlines.
