What is more important? 1000+ zone FALD or a polarizer that in the grand scheme of things brings their bill of materials up by $25.
That thing is way overpriced for what is essentially a globally lit monitor. If Samsung can sell you a 1196 zone...
Well I had both the AW and now main the 42" C2 and think the C2 is a better monitor than the AW. Lets see if you agree when you get yours.
I have pretty low expectations for this G8 especially given I paid $800 + tax for it. Seems like reports...
My Amazon order went from delayed in transit to damaged in transit and is now on route back to Amazon. Samsung order still hasn't shipped for some strange reason and I can still cancel.
I have the patience of a toddler so gonna give it another day.
I have a killawat and will measure the C2 when I have a chance. FYI PG32UQX measures 60w @ 200nits. It comes with a 280w power brick and draws quite a bit more than a C2 under high APL HDR. I wouldn't be surprised if its north of 180w.
EDIT...
According to this infographic yes the only real difference is refresh rate but it also shows G8 is HDMI 2.1 equipped while G7 is not. This contradicts Samsungs own spec page showing the Neo G7 has HDMI 2.1. This is probably because HDMI 2.1 is...
There is a possibility that 165hz is below the threshold that the panel exhibits scanlines and may have been a deliberate choice on Samsung's part. Like the Neo G8, the Neo G9 is stuck with either 120hz or 240hz refresh rate but will accept 167hz...
This is rumored to launch in August.

No idea why some places are reporting it as QD-OLED. Pretty sure its a 165hz VA Miniled panel as evident by the piss poor viewing angles and blooming...
Looks like it was 102 and the guy mistakenly thought his was 103.

There is still hope 103 could fix the standby thing but at this point...
Damn no way. Samsung CS won't do a thing until weeks after so yeah going through Paypal directly is probably your best bet.
Time for Amazon? Mine was suppose to arrive from Amazon yesterday but all it says is "Delayed in transit" so probably Monday.
New batches manufactured after April are M0B103 firmware. Wonder what they fixed or improved other than the pixel refresh prompt bug and HDR1000 UI bug.
These monitors go through revisions very frequently. The Neo G9 is just now on the 3rd almost a year after launch (shows CC03 on the back). When I went by a friends to check it out the frequency of scanlines was greatly reduced as was the...
That's Samsungs optimization approach to maximize contrast and minimize bloom. It's basically the TV method to FALD and what separates it from other FALD monitors - it actually has a FALD algorithm other than on/offing zones.
I am okay with it...
Enabling "VRR Control" basically disables VRR. I know this because every Samsung VA panels overshoot magically disappears with it enabled.
If you got this monitor try it for yourself. Its literally VRR off without the tearing and looks super...
All of Samsungs 1000R monitors are curved like this. Pinched in the center and relatively flat near the sides. I mentioned earlier in this thread that it results in a strange tube effect with horizontal scrolling stuff.
People have been...
No offense but are you new to Samsung? This thing has no Vesa DisplayHDR certification because it would only manage DisplayHDR600. Samsung can market it as Quantum bullcrap HDR5000 if they want. It's completely meaningless. We knew a month ago...
