Yeah game developers just need to learn to cap their framerates during loading screens. For me the worst VRR flicker issues have been when a game is at the transition between LFC and VRR, usually 48 fps/Hz on Freesync screens. That can be...
I feel you are handwaving ultrawide issues as "just run at 16:9". If I buy an ultrawide or super ultrawide display then I sure as hell would like to run every game I own utilizing its full capabilities and it should not need patching them. In my...
Man they really working hard to make this lineup as confusing as possible. I wonder if this model is basically just a replacement for the PG32UQ with maybe a slightly different controller or something.
Here's ASUS's website page...
I don't disagree with that. We are just not there yet and probably won't be for several years with the glacial pace of the display industry. I would even take a LCD capable of 120+ Hz with a mini-LED backlight.
I have explained in other posts why I feel dual monitors are better than these 5K2K monitors. It has nothing to do with 21:9 itself but that the 5K2K displays are overpriced for what they are. For the same money you can get a better spec 4K 16:9...
If it works for you, great. For me 5120x1440 superultrawide with 100% scaling is enough for running 3 windows comfortably side by side. 5120x2160 would require DPI scaling which reduces the effective desktop space to probably something closer to...
I'm in the same boat as I wanted more desktop space than my CX 48" scaled to 125% can give and it got a bit unwieldy with multiple virtual desktops and is not well suited for multimonitor setups. I find that for me 100% scaled 2x 1440p is enough...
I have a CX 48" and it's definitely there for 100% scaling on Windows. MacOS text rendering is different and has no real problems in this regard. On Windows using DPI scaling and adjusting RGB contrast with Better Cleartype Tuner does a good job...
I push back the 42C2 so it's relatively the same clarity perception as the closer G8. I use 150% Windows scaling on all my 4K displays. I don't do work/text/documents on my home PC so not too worried about that. Some of the benefits of the G8's...
How do you feel about the size difference and the effect on PPI for desktop use? Did you use different scaling levels on them? What about text quality?
Most BIOS will pick integrated GPU outputs -> discrete GPU HDMI -> discrete GPU DisplayPort as the input order to use but this might be selectable on some boards. So if you have other displays connected it might try to display it on one of those.
Never had that issue with my CX 48". BIOS showed up just fine even if its resolution was wonky. If you mean it takes longer to start up and gets past the BIOS screen then just keep hitting whatever key gets you to BIOS (F2 or Del usually) and it...
Got the monitor today and I'm very happy with it! Image quality is great and for an IPS the blacklight bleed is fairly minimal. The 75Hz seems a no-go though, despite being advertised. I'm seeing frameskipping at that refresh rate on both Windows...
Awful looking stand design, no sRGB mode and otherwise kind of middle of the pack performance. This will sell only because the 4K 120+ Hz market is pretty garbage.
It is nice to see something besides the awful 8-16 zone edge lit tho. Even though...
Yeah looking at the specs on Samsung's website they seem largely the same including HDMI 2.1. With only a $200 price difference maybe this is just a way for them to use panels or controllers that could not handle 240 Hz? If the G7 is basically...
