Yes. Thank you. Also found the info on the evga forums/site. As well as posts by "enewt" that's tracking the progress of the queues. Thanks!
Of course, I should have checked there first. I'm old and dumb.
I really hope that evga will still send me a queue notification for the other products I'm signed up for even after purchasing the 3080 FTW3 Ultra. . . cuz I sent that one to my nephew who spent all day on Christmas (via video call) building his first gaming rig without a decent video card...
Just a quick follow-up. A video by Jayz Two Cents, without fully testing, just stated that the amount of air and the temperature of that air coming through is not going to matter. He said it was "warmish" but not hot and is coming out at such a velocity that it will just be absorbed by the...
I hope you're right. . . but I wasn't aware of a prior video coolers dumping channeled, heated air directly into the intake area of cpu tower coolers prior. But, then again, I'm not as into this stuff as I used to be. :)
Just finished watching the (paper) release video for nvidia ampere 3080 and 3090 video cards. One of the fans on the card grabs air from in front of the card, passes it through, and dumps it out the back of the card. . . directly into the CPU's space.
For those of us who have gone...
I've got my kids' computers and our steam box in the living room using the good stuff. :)
But, I appreciate the responses. Brought me back to reality. You know, when you start to lower your guard in moments of excitement or anxiety. ;)
Pehaps a silly question. . . but if you had a file server that was already running 24/7 and you thought: "Why not just throw my extra video card(s) in there and mine a bit!?!". . .
Would you trust nicehash to run on a file server that potentially stores your backups, and other sensitive data?
Only real downside is aesthetics. My system certainly looks less modern and fancy than it did with the Corsair LED blazing white and just a couple of black tubes running to a largely hidden radiator.
But. . . I only peer into the side of my case about three times a year. So. . .
I had the exact same experience with my H115i over the last couple weeks. And I too thought I had essentially resolved it after remounting and reapplying MX-4 TIM. Yet, a few days later, temps were climbing again. Keep an eye on it. You may find the same thing: Temps improve for a while. ...
Conclusion: The H115i is failing.
The Noctua NH-D15 performs better than the H115i ever did even when the H115i was new.
