Voice Assistants Dying, Alexa $10 Billion Loss Expected in 2022

I can’t imagine ever wanting that. It would wait till I’m in the middle of a zoom meeting with my boss and then kick in with a tapestry of obscenity.

Mowing over high PPD folders from yesteryear

Now that I think about it, While folding, just set the power limit to 50 watts less than what you’re running now. You’ll save power (and money!) and still get more ppd. Truely win, win, win best all of worlds.

You need a new gpu for gaming? Best of both worlds - best gaming, highest folding points per watt. How can you say no?!?

Intel Finalizes 'Intel on Demand' Pay-As-You-Go Mechanism for CPUs

from a consumer perspective, I look forward to the next generation of “pencil trick”. Buy the 15300, pop the top off, use a pencil to connect a few bridges and “hello 15900k”

    Paypal Changes?

It’s free and fast for me to sling money around in PayPal, so I’m not sure where I would get improvement beyond another service paying me to use it.

Crypto Miners, Not Gamers, Were The Primary Buyers of Graphics Cards Since 2021, Almost $15 Billion Worth of GPU Sales Reported

Can’t say I give a damn about the monetization models. The spreadsheet, backed by repeatable test conditions and reasonable setup, is the important part and the rest is generally fluff. I pay consumer reports for this kind of data, and I’d easily pay double that for [H] content again.

Crypto Miners, Not Gamers, Were The Primary Buyers of Graphics Cards Since 2021, Almost $15 Billion Worth of GPU Sales Reported

Best solution - publish the spreadsheets and leave out the rest of the crap?

    Paypal Changes?

I use it a ton. It is drastically more convenient to use a single payment system instead of having to deal with PayPal + Venmo + Zelle + whatever crappy system you want to use today. If someone wants money from me for something like buying the t-ball coach a present / whatever, they better take...

Apples M2 looks like a beast.

My wife has been using the same macbook air since 2011, and I was watching her use it last week and said "that is just painful to watch, lets upgrade you". The M2 air release times perfectly, and I'll be getting one.

AMD announces Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 CPUs

For personal use it is fine - it’s a NAS after all. Enterprise is using SAN onprem with a comprehensive backup strategy and cross region replication in the cloud.

AMD announces Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 CPUs

It’s not just a from a workstation perspective, though that is part of it. I assert that the most edge case possible is the person that uses ALL the integrated options that come with these boards AND are content with the fact they are basically the lowest end options. For example - what % of...

AMD announces Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 CPUs

Let’s go through your list: GPU - checks out. USB - I believe I left a qualifier in there for 2-4 USB ports. If not, I’ll give you 4 ports being useful for being integrated so you have keyboard, mouse, 1 port for a USB hub, and 1 spare. The hub can easily be moved from system to system over...

AMD announces Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 CPUs

If you just want off site storage, put a box in the remote location and copy via VPN? ( that’s what I do, backup to my parents house). Alternatively, use any one of the cloud storage services? As for the durability of writable optical media, basically every one I made circa 2005 that I used...

AMD announces Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 CPUs

FPU, Cache, DRam controller, and related items are genuinely useful and improve performance. Integrated junk audio, Realtek lan, obsolete storage tech, low end iGPU, and related items are a different ball of wax.
