The original decision was made based on cost. I would like to say that it was a mistake, but then again USB beat competing standards precisely because it was cheaper, so maybe it wouldn't have won if they had started out with decent connectors.

My max on PBO with a lot of LLC wasn't much higher, and my chip hit high 80s in temp. (maybe 4-500 higher) so it looks like your chip is working just fine with PBO enabled.

I'm 99.9 % sure it will use the CPUs stock TDP setting of 105w(unless you manually change it) which is very limiting for 16 cores. PBO extends those limits to a much higher # which allows the CPU to stretch its legs...

Sry been a while since I mined eth. Been on Flux as with parallel assets its actually more profitable than eth and 2080ti is the king of that algo especially when you consider efficiency.

I sold it. Right now I'm using XFX Speedster MERC 6800XT - cool, quiet, and much better - it gave me 100% pass on 3D Mark stress test (20 loops) - even RTX 3080 at stock settings had 98,6. I even get "Rock Solid" achievement on Steam. Closing...
