Oh ok, I saw this post so didn't know, but they don't seem to either. Serious performance issuse is cause by legacy BIOS.

Is legacy bios worse than UEFI?

I recently got old office pc, (Dell Optiplex390) and installed Win10 on it but it was in legacy, wondering now if it matters enough to switch it to UEFI, just a 500gb hd. Would it improve performance to switch it over to UEFI?

Adding ram stick to old dell pc, micron specs same but other one has hp sticker, does it matter?

This is what's in it now And the other 1146 I found on eBay with the hp sticker. Went ahead and got it, was $10 shipped and seller pays for returns so seems safe bet for now. Looking it up says 1.5v

Adding ram stick to old dell pc, micron specs same but other one has hp sticker, does it matter?

I would stick to 1.5v thereabouts; on the Dell forum looks like people have been able to use 16gb of this ram (with updated bios) https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-240-pin-ddr3-sdram/p/N82E16820231637 even though the 390 states only 8gb. I'm not seeing any 2x8gb ddr3 udimm ram for under $50...

Adding ram stick to old dell pc, micron specs same but other one has hp sticker, does it matter?

That's very interesting; so then if dealing with ddr3 any ram of the same voltage will function normally, doesn't matter if 10600, 12800 etc; 1333, 1600mhz, etc. If all were the same ones?

Adding ram stick to old dell pc, micron specs same but other one has hp sticker, does it matter?

I just got the old office pc & monitor, not looking to put much into it, is Dell Optiplex 390, i5-2400, but only one 4gb stick ram, I found same one pc-3 10600U-9-11-B1 #1146 but has HP sticker on it, does that matter if ram stick is the same? Wouldn't think so but figured I'd check before...

Must've been a bad download or something, worked fine this time :)

Can't download drivers from Nvidia site, does the Game Ready driver make a difference for kid's pc?

I reinstalled windows, deleted the nvidia driver from apps but now can't download, well actually I did download latest Game Ready once but it wouldn't install, maybe XPS8300 is too old. Is a 1050ti and the basic drivers for it are loaded in device manager; will additional drivers matter for...

What low cost motherboards would you recommend?

I'm pairing mobo with intel i3-10100, not amd. I realize may have to increase budget for motherboard a bit.

What low cost motherboards would you recommend?

Seems ASRock are the popular mobo choice, but the only one I could find under $120 doesn't have wifi, not huge as where it's at now can use ethernet or if moved have usb wifi, but I did want a built in wifi with this build; there is an MSI and an Asus that have wifi, same prices all. Also an...

What low cost motherboards would you recommend?

My kid's old Dell XPS8300 is looking like finally died. On a budget but looking for motherboards (LGA1200 for Intel, probably i3-10100) under $75. If itx were in stock and priced normal I have new case, but with the price difference can buy a case for under $50 so still the same budget wise...

Need help finding replacement PSU; says needs min 142W combined on 3.3v & 5v rails?

Child's Dell XPS 8300 PSU finally died; Dell states needs a min 142w on the combined 3.3v & 5v rails and links EVGA 700BR/850BQ as compatible replacements. I don't know a lot about PSUs but seem to recall last year when building my new PC that those weren't good, are there any better options...
