3080 Ti EVGA Notify Queue

Congrats to those getting notifications. Mine is around 8:10 AM, so i have a bit to go, but not too bad maybe
 
Yeah congrats to those who managed to get in. I tried, but the site would just not cooperate.

Notify emails already, nice. I didn't participate in the 3080 queue last fall but given the stories I was also expecting a much longer wait.

How does evga handle the emails? Since you get an 8 hour window to purchase, I'm assuming there's a send cut-off time so you don't miss it while sleeping? What is the time range that emails go out?

I’m at 8:25 on both FTWs. I figure that’s probably 10k cards behind the current position.

“We are doing a small test right now so due to the time anyone outside of the 8 hour window will allow exception for this test run. Going forward (after 10/6) the emails will be released during normal business hours.”

That’s 3-11pm my time.
 
I wonder how much of a drop off there will be after today. I know there were supposed to be some decent "spurts" of releasing the cards to be purchased for those in queue on the 3rd and 4th, but it sounded like after that it might be a trickle.

Their times are all PST, so you're looking at over an hour after the queue supposedly opened.
 
hoping some more of you guys get allocations today. A couple of you getting them yesterday is a good sign considering how FUBAR the whole thing was.

So the first person in the queue is literally an hour past when it opened? These websites really need to figure out how to do this better.

They really fucked me over. I wasted about an hour trying to get in when nobody could, and then they got their shit straightened out and by the time I got back to it, I'm an 1:20 behind these 7:09 people. I had to give a friend of mine my login to try to get into the queue because their website kept crapping out on me on my phone when trying to login to my EVGA account.

Agreed, I feel like I atleast have a chance with the evga system. actually had a chance at a 3080 back in sept that I missed the 8hr window /cry.

Newegg I was selected in the shuffle once for just a standalone 3070 but when I went to buy it told me it was out of stock. So whats the point of me being selected if it was still out of stock anyhows. I was confused.

And for Bestbuy, I had gotten to the please wait point and then the add to cart lit up on multiple cards and I clicked within seconds and all were gone already, so I don't get the point of the queue and opening up the add to cart in groups, I assume bots still get their way in there and you loose to them anyhows.

There are spreadsheets on the internet. Of course, they are only as good as the people who report times and when they receive notifications.

BestBuy, i think you can forget getting online, but you at least have an in-store option.

yeah, I might have to stop in and ask if my store even gets local stock of 3080s which is all I'm looking for. Unfortunately I'm sure the employees know when they have cards in and just call up friends to let them know and get a head start most of the time.

There are Discord servers out there that post drops at Best Buy, and i think it can even go to store-level detail for some. Microcenter too
 
Eh. I'm disappointed, but it's not unexpected. I'll use the money to buy a better display.

Congrats! I only got 5% on mine, almost didn't order because the card is a terrible value to begin with but I figured the hybrid model would be fun to try.

Value to me is the founders 3080. Happy day that was announced. Faster speeds and reasonable pricing. So innocent back then.

If everything was MSRP then yes it’s horrible. Yet people camped overnight to get the chance at a founders version. The strange ones to me spend $2200 on the aftermarket 3090s at Newegg of all places, or $2500 for a 6900xt. Don’t even get me started on eBay pricing.

Then again I had SLI monster 3D voodoo2’s, also not really a value.

Make sure to come back with how the hybrid goes, Im interested in seeing how you like it.

I mean, I cannot complain too much - this is not a must have for me - but I've been an elite member for nearly the entire time the program has existed. I liked the idea of EVGA doing something to 'reward' loyal customers. It just makes zero sense that they switch it to loyal customers to anyone who can spam to 100 on the forums within 48 hours - and they get a discount to boot.

I wish they would make a long time member discount instead, but they let basically anyone get elite status, and all the noobs who never bought anything get the coupons. :(

At least the associate codes work (and even alone, is better than what any other brand/reseller has to offer).

But after all this, some long time evga users are gonna be pissed. I was able to get a spin to win coupon (a month or 2 ago) only because I didn't even know about the elite program and a 2060KO I bought in 2019 made me eligible.

Just give a queue priority to long term customers. I don't need a discount or anything.
