AMD is touting their product stack's ability to lead in Blockchain technology as they are the only company able to supply compute platforms with both blazing fast GPUs and CPUs. AMD partners have complete plug and play blockchain compute solutions, including software and upgrades. Blockchain is much more than just cryptocurrency; its flexibility allows it to be the future of business transactions, and much more.

Blockchain is a digital ledger -- a continuously growing list of records -- that is kept over time, decentralized and secured using cryptography. Data is distributed across a large, distributed, incorruptible network of computers, allowing us to interact with stored data in real-time, directly without intermediaries. Because it is not relying on conventional, proprietary, closed and hard-to-control IT infrastructures. Blockchain is providing an independent, tamper-proof, transparent new platform to securely store, transmit and process sensitive and valuable data.
 
I swear to the Omnissiah, if AMD is trying to use this as a way of saying they spent the last 2 years optimizing their new tech for cryptomining and not focusing on higher end gaming performance forcing them to play the competitive game for the middle market again I am just going to give up on them for this generation as well.

AMD especially Radeon have ALWAYS been faster/more complete for hashing for many years now, of course optimizations can always be done, that is the biggest difference between Radeon and Nv..Radeon have all the "parts" to hash very very well (can be tuned to lower volts but still have performance to spare) most Nv really are not all that great hashers besides very specific "type" but they are not focused hash potential.

Nv typically favors "high speed easy to crunch" Radeon (AMD in general) have been more of a "lower speed but crunch a whole whack of things at higher difficulty"

and this is how AMD loses my faith in release good gaming product and loses a customer who has been buying their GPUs for years even if are not needed just to throw some money, however, mining it's one of things I hate most of the modern age and I won't support anything focused in mining even if that mean not buying AMD products Again ever or until they change that focus.

I agree but for all the purposes I buy cards they are falling behind hard. AMD's cards don't work as well as nVidia's in Citrix, nor RDP, the drafting, animation, and cad software we license all works far better on nVidia. The nVidia cards also pull fewer watts and run cooler which is important when you are cramming 8 of them into one 2U chassis. nVidia has also done a better job at their workstation and server drivers than AMD. And on a personal note I want something that I can justify as a tangible upgrade from my 1080 on my gaming rig. There is a lot of negative press around the 2080 and the 2080TI and I would like to see an alternative.

Because of security issues I am upgrading all my servers from Intel to AMD starting Jan 3, and I would love to be able to replace some of my ageing nVidia GPU's with some AMD offerings but the Radion Pro series just isn't keeping pace for the price. When you have 40+ people all running various 3D rendering programs, drafting suites, or photo editing softwares off one server cluster every bit of juice I can get out of it counts.
 
PoW hashing algos are placeholders... I guess until an efficient PoS algo (based on operations served) is developed, AMD can toot all they want.
